Hot Apple Cider & Hint of Orange

by Letetia on March 11, 2011

The recent weather in Granada, Spain was wonderfully spring like, and orange trees were weighted down with lush fruit throughout the city. Unfortunately, back on the home front cold days and even colder nights are still in effect. Bring a bit of Granada warmth to any of your winter parties with a simple hot beverage that’ll leave the guests feeling toasty. Heat apple cider and a bit of orange juice over low heat (heat it too harshly and you’ll end up with spices separating out). Add rum to taste. Since it’s a party, go all out and add a cinnamon stick to each mug for stirring and added flavor. Of course, omitting the rum is allowed, but with my crowd not nearly as much fun!

Can’t possible be as easy as it looks, right? Wrong! Instructions are on the bottle, and the can for that matter, [...]

Our Mulled Wine Recipe

October 19, 2010

This just screams festive to me. Not sure why exactly. Maybe it’s the deep garnet color and the mingling scents of spices and fruit…of course it could also be the alcohol and how it seeps into every cold cell of your body to make your cheeks flush and your toes tingle. Ah well, whatever the [...]

Got Hot Apple Cider on Your Fall Party Menu?

September 22, 2010

It’s a gorgeous fall day here, sunny and in the upper 50′s, and that has me thinking, naturally, about hot alcoholic beverages. Oh, don’t ask…it was a long night. So, do you have hot apple cider on your fall party menu? If you don’t, you should. Along with mulled wine and pumpkin martinis, of course. [...]
