Fowl Inspiration

I’ve always been impressed by interior design schemes that rely on colors Mother Nature has bestowed on foods. It’s like she’s already done the color palette work for you: cantaloupe and lime; beet red and spinach green. Seeing these birds in the Fuengirola Bioparc (extra points for knowing where that is!) made me think of a perfect color scheme for my next sophisticated dinner party. Linens in soft blue-gray, flower arrangements in shades of burgundy, with just a hint of white to brighten the visual effect.

Everywhere I looked in Benalmádena, Spain, creamy yellows and soft peaches adorned buildings that stood out against the vibrant azure of the sky. When you want a change from cheerfully intense tropical colors but want to retain their relaxed warmth, for your next party look to the colors of Costa del Sol.
